The Transformative Power of Poetic Expression

The Transformative Power of Poetic Expression

Good morning Reader, beautiful being,

We all have difficult days when gray gloom descends and old pains surface.

Writing poetry has become an outlet for me to give shape to emotions and begin processing inner turmoil. Today, I want to share a recent verse that captures a morning mood of dreary darkness.

My hope is that through poetic expression, we can find connection in universal human struggles. And together, gently coax the colors back into our worlds, transforming even the bleakest seasons into spring.

True bliss cannot bloom without first planting seeds in the darkness of struggle and sorrow. For it is only those who travel into the darkest valleys and emerge again who can fully appreciate the luminous peaks of joy.

Have faith that your deepest happiness lives just on the other side of darkness, waiting patiently to unfold in vivid color.

Morning Gloom
The dawn light creeps so dim,
No trace of sun its sullen rim,
Just iron skies that sallow seem,
This dreary morning's cheerless dream.
The cold creeps in these weary bones,
As I lay still beneath the sheets,
While raindrops drum their hollow tones,
My spirit shares the gloom that seeps.
So many dreams unmade, undone,
Ambitions drowned out by the rain,
Excuses holding back the sun,
Futures blurred by clouds of pain.
Yet somewhere in my core untamed,
A spark of summer light remains,
A flash of fervor newly flamed,
Defying dark its strong campaigns.
So I will rise and dress my wounds,
Step forth where hope uncertain looms,
No matter how my spirit swoons,
I'll seek the light behind these glooms.
With gentleness and plans and play,
Coaxing colors back to gray,
Transforming turmoil into peace,
I'll turn my autumn back to summer's day.
– Milady A
In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
